OSLib on SourceForge

I have finally succeeded in putting OSLib on SourceForge, and being able to
administer it to my satisfaction, although the latter currently requires a
linux box to do so :-(
The current repository is slightly ahead of OSLib 6.32; you can check it out
anonymous access with John Tytgat's CVS port <http://www.cvs.riscos.org.uk>
as follows:
1. Create a download directory, say oslib, somewhere in your work tree.
2.Copy the file ,checkout_anon (attached) into it.
3. Double-Click on ,checkout_anon; if all is well, you'll see the files being
downloaded. Beware; OSLib is quite big, and will take a while to download on
a slow link. It takes 4 minutes on my 128 KbpS ISDN link.
4. You can then build the entire library and tools by double-clicking on
!OSLib.!MakeAll. This takes almost exactly 2 hours on my RO 4.49 StrongArm
RPC.
To checkout to a linux box, you'll use a similar command sequence. The
difference is that you'll get a UNIX-type file structure. To translate this
to RISC OS format in order to compile it, you'll require the unixify utility
from <http://www.mk-net.demon.co.uk/software/risc_os/unixify.zip>. The Obey
file ,OSLib-Fetch shows how this is used to move the directory to RISC OS;
the Obey file ,OSLib-Translate performs it in situ; you can then build over
the network. Building OSLib over the network takes somewhat longer : 2.5
hours over my 10B2 network. Both files will need editing to suit your
environment.
My intention is to keep the repository up to date with each change; a full
binary library release will not be more frequent than 6-monthly, as now. The
sources will no-longer appear on mk-net.
Please let me know if anyone finds this to be of any use at all ;-)
Cheers, Tony
