A third possibility: Add a new type.

  typedef osspriteop_area wimpspriteop_area

...and the help page for wimpspriteop_area would then give info on
the two constants. All operations supporting the constants would
then have to be re-typed to use wimpspriteop_area instead of
osspriteop_area.
