Whether you use another platform for reasons of performance and 
practicality is not a reason to drop support for building under
RISC OS. We've got to be able to eat our own dog food.

Even so thats a dozen less developers which we can't afford to lose.

If I found I had to use another platform to compile, I'd have almost
no reason to carry on developing for RISC OS. I might as well cross
compile for PDAs, or make use of the full power of the native machine
to run the code too.

But anyway I don't want to get in to a huge debate it about it here. I 
just want to make sure that the ability to build on RISC OS is 
preserved. Even if its not maintained in the main branch, Tom's build
environment should be in SVN incase he goes under a bus tomorrow,
god forbid.
